Started off at daylight about middle way to the back jigging working points and open water. As the morning progressed I worked my way out slowly finished up at Christmas tree island about 10ish. Marked lots of single scattered fish and a few small pods of 2 or 3, maybe 4 fish. Never found an actual school of fish. Jigged spoons, white ice and chartreuse flukes as well as bucktails. Fish never showed any interest and basically would run away when I dropped a jig down to them. Hooked up on one small fish blind casting a storm swim shad but came unbuttoned at the boat. I'm no artificial fisherman but wanna try and get better at it. If somebody know something I don't please feel free to shoot me a pm. I did notice a lot of striper boats doing more traveling than fishing so maybe I won't the only one having a tough morning.

We, started off down there had a nice one on soon after daylight, halfway to the boat he came off, moved back up lake and had two more takedowns, first one hooked turned into the gizzards head, second one crushed the bait looked like it had been cut! First fish was on an alewive other two takedowns were bill size gizzards! We fished until about 12 and called it a day!

I pulled 4 gizzards for 2-3 hours and caught one channel cat. Other than that just a couple yanks. So tomorrow they'll all be hungry because they weren't eating today.

I think I'm gone just sleep in tomorrow. Atleast I won't the only one having a tough morning. I knew when I kept dropping the jig down and you could watch them on the sonar take off to the bottom or run up in the water column I should of just put it back on the trailer. I'm ready for gizzard shad and planer boards and cooler water Temps.

I'm ready for gizzard shad and planer boards and cooler water Temps. You took the words right out of my soul. I pretty much gave up fishing when my daughter took on playing travel softball a few yrs ago. Just before labor day this year we sat down and decided with her school work getting harder and harder along with other commitments that travelball has become to time consuming. So with that we gave it up and my time for fishing has greatly improved. I feel like a rookie again though and at the beginning of the learning process.
