Went to lake this morning to do some cleaning on boat and rig some leaders but instead decided to fish. Fished with a buddy of mine that was already out. Set Spread of 4 planners and 2 float lines all free lined with big 10 inch blue backs and mongo shad around 11 a.m. Ended up with 2 large mouth and 2 stripers and one small channel cat. Called it a day around 2. Great day on water with little traffic (where i was at least) . Fish seemed to not play around today they just simply took bait and swam like crazy. Haha.

Any action on those bluebacks? I've had little success with them thus far. They look very tasty to me.

Had have some action on them in deeper water on boards but today only caught one on them all others where on mongos. We just had plenty of them out of a throw that produced 50 plus 6 inches an above, so we definitely used them haha

I really like the idea of pulling mongos and big bluebacks. I'm finding them more and more mixed in with shad in the mud.

The only problem that ive had with gettin these bigger bluebacks is that my 5/8 net trees up with smaller ones hunting them down. But when u find them there thick. Just my experience also is that once you throw on them once u have to chase them like looking for a school of stripers there constantly moving, unlike the mongos i catch u can throw turn aroumd and throw again after about 5 mins or longer.
