Posted this earlier but my fat fingers sent it before it was ready.
Had family on the lake from 5/23 to 5/26 and they wanted to catch their first striper. It was a great weather week but not so for the fishing for us. Bait was pretty easy at the dock with ales of all sizes. We fished near the dam, Craddock Creek, Sportsman’s Cove (I think this is the name) and the Boardwalk and ended up with 3 stripers, couple catfish and some LMB. The stripers we did catch came from the dam area and didn’t see many others catching much. The stripers were in the 24 to 28 inch range. The WT was 68 on Monday and rose to 79 by Friday, not sure this was an issue but I don’t think the temperature rise helped much. Boat traffic was not bad most of the week. The lower lake is still new to me and will continue to try and figure it out. I am thinking it is about time to start moving up the river some.
