It has been Oct. since I have been able to put my boat in the water and fish. I have dropped it down in the water and charged the batteries, but no fishing. I appreciate the encouragement you have posting. Yes, I have been a stalker and not a contributor. Two weeks ago I came up to fish even though they were calling for high winds. I dropped the boat down Friday evening and started charging the batteries. I got a red light on the onboard charger and I thought I had a charger problem. After pulling and checking, I found out my trolling motor battery was dead. It had been charging all winter and have had no problem. Anyway, when I saw the snow squalls coming across the lake Sat. morning, I decided I had other things to do.
This sat. morning I was out before the bass tournament went out. Down the lake it was very slow. I did not see any boats catching much. The creeks that normally have fish in them seemed pretty much empty. I was able to catch (2) about 24". I had more success on floats behind the boat than I did anything. I did have several nice pulls on the planers but were gone in just seconds. I was marking a few fish 20-30 fow.
I called it a morning about 10:00am. Bass boats were coming in as soon as someone pulled out. How many boats were there? It seemed like there were 100 around me alone.
Nice trip though. Nice to be on the water.

good to hear you're out again...
I've got a red light showing on my charger as well - has been doing it off and on for the bank that's connected to my cranking battery. Usually it turns itself off after replugging the charger a time or two - or waiting a few minutes.... That bank is connected to a cranking battery that is now 6 years old, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the battery, but the boat keeps cranking without issue, so I haven't dug in deeper yet....

I understand. Of course I went the long route. I checked the charger first because everything seemed fine over the winter. Last resort, I put a meter on the battery and guess what, Here's My Sign. It was dead and would not charge at all. The simplest things in life seems to confound me the most.
