Just curious if you guys think it is better to leave the lid on your bait tank open or closed when your holding bait over night. I usually leave my open if the temp outside is close to the temp of the water in my tank.. So, I tend to leave my lid open in the spring and closed during the hot summer months. Just curious to get your guys thoughts on the topic.

. leave the lid open, or at least cracked... you need air-flow to allow the tank to off-gas stuff out..... I leave it open/cracked all the time except when running down the lake if someone is standing behind the leaning post.

I simply close the lid using my dip net handle to provide a small crack. In the morning, I spray the foam and say hi to all my beautiful buddies. The foam is harmless as long as the ammonia is allowed to escape via a crack.

I agree if you can it is better to leave them open/cracked. Like JMR I have come down to the dock to see someone came for the all you can eat buffet.
