Hey, guys I haven't been fishing since July but, I plan to get out Monday... It usually takes me a day to figure out a good fishing pattern or to find out where some fish are hanging out... Which is fine with me because figuring things out when it comes to striper fishing is the best part... The thing is I really need to get on some fish on Monday because I am going out with my dad and he has been on a super cold streak... We are hoping I can turn his luck around..
My plan right now:
Pick up some bait off of my dock light Monday moring.. I'm hoping to pick up some big alewives to start off with and then pick up some bigger shad at some point during the moring as I am fishing...
I am planing on starting off in the back of creeks and fishing out while watching my boards and lowrance for info. I was thinking of starting off in Indian and then fishing creeks back down lake... Basically jumbing from creek to creek... If this pattern doesn't seem to working I will mostlikly start pulling main points...
Anyway, it can be a big overwhelming lake when you have been on the water in a long time...
What do you guys think of my per trip fishing game plan?
BTW, Feel free to PM me...
Thanks, FishON

Fish from your house to Indian and you'll catch fish - they may not be big, but they'll be LOTS of them!

Big bait is definitely the hot ticket. I can attest that the creeks and coves from Beaver to Campers are a good bet. Of course, timing is everything.
Best of luck!

Big bait is definitely the hot ticket. I am no big bait whisper like you... In fact, I suck at getting good size gizzard shad... I can load the tank up in a few seconds with alewives at night and with juvenile gizzard shad during the day. But, when it comes to good size gizzard shad, I still have a lot to learn.. I will try and target some bigger gizzard shad at some point on Monday.. Figuring things out is what makes striper fishing fun IMO...

If fishing was called catching, I would find another passion. Thus, I am with you... It's all about solving the mystery! If you happen to land a 14 inch gizzard... Make sure you put it on a hook and get ready for a fight!

As Yam says.... Timing is everything. Today we had the bait, we were covered up in fish, had fish breaking all around the boat, but didn't have the bite.... Well, BentRod did hook up with two on artificals - one to the boat and the other bent open the clip on the swimbait.....

Hey guys, thanks for the replies and the PM from johnR. I think your replies helped me stay in the area I had plan on fishing instead of cutting and run as I didn't see many fish on the sonar.
- This forum is one of many tools that helps me catch more fish.
