Hello all!, I wanted to get your opinions on the 2 units for my minn Kota. I have enough bass pro gift cards to pay COMPLETLY for the co pilot, and about half for the ipilot. What are your opinions on the two units, and which would you choose if you were in my situation? I like the spot lock feature on the ipilot when on a good school, as well as the record a track for trolling. Thank you for you input in advance.

I like the iPilot - I do NOT think I would like the iPilot Link as the remote control is huge and from what I hear had short battery life.
Some find the features that iPilot provides over coPilot to be useful - others don't find them to have value. I like the iPilot but I never had just CoPilot to compare. Both steer the boat and let you change speed - 95% of what you want it to do. iPilot has Spotlock - which I find marginal value on SML - if we fished in current it would be more useful. However, it is nice to spotlock when you're doing something on the boat - filling the bait tank, etc - and not worry about drifting into the bank or such. The "Cruise Control" feature never has worked well for me but my TM may be undersized for my boat.
I've not used the track record features either - maybe I should - again, depends on how you fish.... it coul dbe intersting and perhaps I should try though I don't too often go back over the same area time and time and time again.
The iPilot remote is bigger than the copilot - the coiplot is a dongle that can go on your wrist - the iPilot has to hang from your neck, belt, etc. HOWEVER, the did come out with a small IPilot remote the size of the Copilot - its just an extra $100 expense and not make where you can attach to your wrist the way the copilot is (unless you use some velcro on the back.

I have the CoPilot and thought I would regret not having iPilot but after a year I don't regret the decision. CoPilot does everything I need it to do on SML and the smaller remote that hangs around my neck doesn't get in the way. Like anything else it takes some getting used to become proficient. The first few months getting speed and precise direction together took some practice.

Looks like it's pretty much a toss up, both have the needs for SML...for what my gift cards value are, I think I'll go with the ipilot, simply if I'm fishing in the wind like a couple days last year over a school of fish. Also, the spot lock feature will help me a TON!!!!!! While on the boat with my two young boys. I'm sure most you al know how that is when you have a 5 year old and a 8 year old on board with you! Fun times and rewarding in the end!! Thanks for the input!!!

I went straight from hand steer to pilot earlier this year. I love the ipilot. Spot lock is super cool. I was gonna get a riptide with copilot but decided to go v2 with ipilot as I rarely actually get to fish the salt.
I'm glad I did this for the spot lock alone.
