My bigger baits (10+") are coming out of the tank with red noses. Is this a problem? They seem to be pretty lively. Although they did produce much today (report to follow after tomorrow). What causes this? Do I need more salt? Less salt? Thanks.

Generally from stress and most typically from ammonia - and from over crowding the tank

Not going to over sell any filter material - filters will trap the scales, help get the dirt out of the water and also trap the poop (which of cleaned will help keep it down some) but the ammonia will still be there. There are some products like AmmoZorb that may help with ammonia. Water changes even are minimally effective unless doing 80-90%. Best thing is make sure enough air / o2 is getting into the tank with small bubbles to help the exchange and that you leave the tank open so the ammonia and other can off-gas. And, don't overcrowd the tank
