Dad and I along with another friend made our first trip to the bay last weekend. We arrived on Thursday to rain fog and 2 to 3 foot swells. We went out anyway it was fairly rough, we fished all day never got a big fish to bite. We did run up on some birhs working bait and we managed to catch 15 to 20 schoolies they were tiny. 13 to 15 inch fish. Not exactly what we were there for but still kept the skunk off. The wind kept us off of the water the next two days. Finally got back out on Sunday. Water was very rough to start with. We finally got an eel bite a little after lunch. Our friend Mike grabed the rod and the fight was on. He landed a very nice 40 lber. That's the only action we had on Sunday. Monday was our last day. We had big hopes of catching at least 2 so all of us could fight one. We started where we got the one the day before. Pulled for an hour or so with no luck. We picked up and moved a couple of miles south an put out our spread. 6 boards 3 floats and one free line. Made about a mile pull then we noticed the next boat over catching one. Soon after he landed it one of our floats took off. I grabbed the rod but the fish wasn't slowing down, he almost spooled me. So close that I could see the spool through the line. I finally started to gain ground on him and had been fighting him for 10 minutes or so when one of our planers went off. Dad grabbed it then another planer goes off, Mike picked it up. So after a slow start we are now tripled up with no one to use the net. Mike tightened his drag and put the rod back in the holder netted mine and went back to his rod to find broken line. We got dad's in and weighed them mine was 52 and dads was 43 now that's a double. We fished a couple more hours and picked up 2 more one 37lber and Mike made up for the broken line with another nice 40lber. It was a great first trip! I have to give a big thanks to primetime for letting me use his boat. We couldn't have went otherwise

Awesome report Jason ! Glad you were able to get on some after a couple of days of being blown out. That is great !! I know you guys are hooked now. That is pretty cool of Primetime to let you use his rig. I hope we can get out while we are there after Christmas and catch a few as well. Merry Christmas and tight lines !
