Was delegated to fishing out of my john boat this past weekend but was able to find some fish. Caught some bait in the back of beaverdam before daylight. Boated first fish on a moneymaker sized shad at 6:13am, still dark. Lost a second fish, and caught one on a smaller sized shad that was largest of day, about 16 pounds. Thank you to the two men in the boat with oars that took my picture! (Those two were diligent about catching one on a fly rod. I am not sure if they pulled that off or not.) About 7:15 the fish started chasing shad and it was on until about 9am. Every boat in that area Saturday morning caught some fish. I ended up with 6 in the boat, four of which were caught on lures. (Storm shad). Problem with trash and debris and keeping your baits not fouled.
Went back to same area outside of Linville Creek on Sunday morning but the big floating trash field had worked its way down onto the main catching area the day before. No fish on Sunday morning. A guy with a dog in the boat did catch a couple on downrods that I saw. Good luck to everyone. I have read this board for years, but this is my first post. Kville

Welcome aboard, I enjoyed your first report. Keep um coming..... As many people that were fishing I don't understand why there aren't more reports. Everyone likes reading about others successes and even failures. Share more guys and girls....

does Kville stand for Kernersville, NC ?Im from Walkertown. My son and I love SML when we can get up there, he works 6 days a week, so our time is limited.
