Bait was thick in Beaverdam. Peanuts, money makers and a few mongos. Just find a spot with no structure to get hung on and toss a deep water net. Stripers were also in the area, both in the creek and in the main channel upriver and downriver from the creek. I had a spread of planers, light lines, down lines but all of my fish came on downlines that I tried to fish just above any trees I marked. Peanuts seemed to be preferred but money makers got some love as well. Now that you know where to go last weekend, next weekend is going to be totally different!

Hope that I didn't interfere with you, I had just got into Beaver Dam to get bait when my motor pooped out. Was able to get it in gear at low idle to get back to Hardy. Tried to stay out everyones striper Buffett. I apologize to anyone that I bothered. There was a lot of bait in beaver dam.

The only person who interfered was the douchnozzle in a gigantic searay type boat who about swamped some guys in a tracker.
I did make someone a little irate myself though. I was running up river and spotted a planer board. I swerved over and plucked it out of the water it figuring it might have a phone number on it, if not, I could post a mysterious "if you lost something describe it" thread. The only boat in the area was bass fishing.... well, the boat on the next point over that I thought was bass fishing actually had some planers out on the bank side where I couldn't see them. I idled over and tossed his board in his path, but I'm sure he thought I was trying to steal his wayward board.

Brian, please feel free to pluck my planer boards and throw them in front of my path. This time of year, if I don't have at least one that has got away, I am not fishing correctly. However, just be aware that if you travel more than one mile away from my boat, my planers are rigged to explode copperhead venom all over your boat.
Merry Xmas!

Brian, picking up the board was IMHO the courteous thing to do. I was on a big school in Craddock one morning and had caught a few when another boat came roaring over when I caught a double. The guy cut right in front of me to the point where I had to slow down to keep from running over his outside board that went about two feet from my trolling motor. Of course he hits a fish and loses that board. I picked it up, in plain sight of him with good intentions to give it to him. He turns around tying all his lines up and starts cursing at me. I handed him his board and about a dozen orange beads and said "if you put these in line above your swivel you won't keep losing boards every time you get a fish on. He said "thanks a74hole!" and kept going. DUH. The boat with red T top.

Multiple boats on SML that have (or did have) red t-tops, and some that are no longer owned by the same owner so be careful that the wrong person is not insinuated here....

Yes that was about 10 years ago and I just had seen that one boat with the red T top running around the lake, often mentioned in a few other posts as well. If anyone got offended and thought I was writing about you. Why?
