I'm taking my family and we are camping at Eagles Roost campground Oct. 28-Nov. 1. My oldest daughter and myself will be kayak fishing. Is there any good areas that we can try around our campground. We both have Hobie Pro Anglers. We can cover some area.
Any suggesstions on locations to try?
Thanks for any help.

Can't help much on the stripers dan that way this time of year as I'm fishing above the Halesford bridge. Doesn't mean some aren't roaming down there but you might consider putting the yaks in the truck / car one day and heading up lake.

Last year we fished out of the state park campground. And fished around the island that had the house on it. Caught some small rock on top water. Also went to the right and fished around some submerged rocks and caught some rock there. It was about the same time of year.
Looks like the Eagles roost campground is a few minutes further down the lake.

Hey Fishmonkey, the big island with the two houses on it is Emerald Island. On the side next to the state park is a big cove in the back of it. There's a real nice ledge right there between the north side point entering the cove and the island that holds fish pretty much all year. It's one of my go to places to keep the skunk out of my boat. Also on the southern end of that island (you would turn up lake coming out of campground) is a small shoal. The ledges around that shoal are good striper water as well. You should see some breaking action in that area as well. But if you want sure fire action go way up river and put your yaks in there this time of year. I'll be sitting in a tree stand wishing you well.
