Bait was easy small 4-5 inch gizzard shad. Matter of fact I caught to many and I let some go. W/T was 67-68, cool and cloudy first part of the morning to sunny and windy when I left. Marked a few pods roaming at several places, most were not chewing . Fished 5 down rods to start, then switched to 2 planers 1 float light line and 2 down rods. I caught a 26 inch striper and a 12 inch white perch on the float and had a planer tripped while I was looking the other way with no connection. I almost put out some U-rigs, but stuck with the bait instead. Enjoyed the day on the water that's for sure. Been thinking maybe I need to try for bigger bait size next time.
