Thanks guys, you are a great group to be associated with. Looking forward to getting to know you more. The conversation is great on this board / and on this tread while I was out toiling over my trailer repairs. Sriperjohn I will definitely take you up on that sometime. Only thing I am certifiable about is my passion for Jesus Christ. I have done youth ministry for 18 years and do a youth church outreach every Wednesday night in Harrisonburg, VA.
Day two was just as bad if not worse! Could not sleep and kept thinking that the guy was going to try to make a couple of grand of my trailer repair, and how all my gear may get ripped off. Had another lighter axle in the shed so I loaded up my floor jack, jack stands, u bolts, blocks and such. Got some tires mounted on some 15 inch rims that this axle required. Got there and he said he could not look at it until next week. I told him, no problem, I would have it repaired and gone in 1.5 hours. I did swap out the axle and wheels and was on my way in that much time. Offered him some cash for using his lot and he said no thank you, go fishing. Pulled into a mall parking lot to McDonalds down the street to pee. Felt drag and looked back and driver side trailer wheel was leaned into the trailer, another collapsing axle. Ok lets try a new tractor supply axle, ran back to Harrisonburg and got one, ended up being too short. My only hope is that Dove Camper sales will have a big 1.75" spindle hub tomorrow for the original big axle or my welder can work a miricle on the lighter one. I have to get my boat out of there tomorrow. I have to be in MD all week next week, my first week on my new job.
It will all work out and yes it could be a lot worse!
Blessings fishing brethren!
