Start back to work next week so wanted to get in one last trip. Axle broke going down my driveway at 2:30am. Went back to bed. Got up and jacked it up pulled axle, got it welded, got tires swapped out, put it all back together and on the road to SML at 2:00pm. Cruising down 81 at 70 mph feel it wobble, see the sparks, see the tire pass me in the left median, nice right! Hub blew out, just got new hubs on axle at Westlake last year. Get trailer towed to repair shop in Staunton and I get the feeling he wants to make a fortune out of this. Oh yeah lost my blue tooth ear piece somehow and my flasher relay went out when I needed it most! Thanks for the best of luck wishes Yam. It ain't happening this week so it might be fall before I'm back.

Man - I need to make sure Yam doesn't wish me good luck anytime soon That's a tough day - glad that nothing really bad happened though in terms of a wreck it anything..... The lake and fish will be here when you get the next chance. Hope it's not a fortune to fix it though.

Hey, at least you had a better day than I did. I spent the day at my desk in a cube farm.

That sucks!! I am always fearful of that same scenario. I drag my boat to TN, NC, GA and all over VA and have yet to experience that. Good luck in the Fall!!

That sucks!! I am always fearful of that same scenario. I drag my boat to TN, NC, GA and all over VA and have yet to experience that. Good luck in the Fall!! Happened to me in Tennessee on my way to Lake Hiawassee. Freaking Jeep (POS) timing belt broke. Lights came on and she just stopped. A cracked engine block resulted. Paid the guy at the shop 300 bucks to tow my family and boat down to our vacation rental. Ended up getting lost on a some scary "shortcut" in the mountains. It just kept happening. But we made it... Ended up costing me 10k to replace the engine and other crap just so I could get home and then replace the transmission. Didn't let it bother me too much.. Ended up being the best vacation of my life and resulted in my first and only child. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Get a few blue bombers from the local tackle shop and have the time of your life!

We usually fish for walleye on Hiawassee but I sure as heck won't turn down good advice. Long A's Yam? Didn't mean to hijack your thread Bodywarrior.

The dude is the owner of the bait shop. The lady is just one of those cool chicks who decided to tune in and check out in the woods. She works at the bait shop as well. Good memories. On another note, this whole notion of hijacking a thread is one that I disagree with. Sure it is good for boards to be efficiently organized and on a particular topic. But...conversation should be allowed to go where it goes just like it does in real life. Often times it is spontaneous conversations that reveals the real gems of information. When one of my threads goes off topic, I welcome it.

Don't worry, Mward has felt a disturbance in the force and will be along shortly to split the thread and move the off topic conversation into it's proper place. Then all will be right again and his eyelid will stop twitching

Btw Bodywarrior if you ever want to fish before you get your rig repaired drop me a PM. Most times its just me and my buddy and sometimes my grandson. Always room for one or two as long as you are not a certified serial killer.;D If you are not certifiable then you'll fit in good with my friends who are all a bit strange!
