What type of bait are you trying to catch? Alewifes? Juvenile gizzards Big gizzards? I'm not sure what you mean by "around the state park" - from a boat or from land - but I'm pretty confident that you'd pull some alewifes and juvenile gizzards in with a light at night in that area - and there is a good chance some bigger gizzards have been roaming that part of the lake in the surrounding creeks

And from land usually around this time a year you can get all the alewives you want from the docks at the state park.

Anyone catching bait around state park yet? As I fished around the state park a few days back, I was continually distracted by bait, especially big gizzards. Frankly I saw better concentrations of big gizz here than any of my usual hotspots North. Trouble is, good luck catching them in the day in clear water! Will drive you nuts! They never went to the backs of creeks for me as well.. But if they did.. then I could get them. 10 feet or more.. Maybe 1 gizz per 20 throws? The smaller ales here were easy and plentiful all day. I'm sure the big ales are easy at night.
