Question for you guys. What size hook do you generally use? I understand it's based on the size of the bait. I have a big box full of circles (up to 11/0) and one (1) missed fish on Anna yesterday has me questioning using circles with planer boards. Not looking to start up THAT arguement again, just asking for opinions.
Thanks, Rob

Lot of the old guys I knew hooked the shad thru the eyes like the zip tie method, they caught a bunch of fish that way.

Mostly I used 5/0 and down. Honestly, I still look at the front hook as a stinger holder. However, I never really set the hook just in case the Circle did its job. And it rarely did. So now I am going with a J and a stinger and the biggest will be 7/0.

Nope goes through easy. They do studder a bit and keep repeating themselves. Lol. The saltwater guys do it with a rigging needle and braid. Sent from my SM-G900R4 using proboards I don't want to throw plastic into the lake every time I put out bait. Please oars, in honor of the Christmas spirit and all that is holy, don't start one of these throw downs again.........

I have used this same technique when offshore fishing for sails. We used goggle eyes for bait. We didn't use a cable tie but instead used dental floss. Some guys also just run the hook from eye to eye and that works good too.
