Got an odd question, A couple years ago I got rid of a Stratos boat I had and got a bigger Skeeter boat. My wife is my fishing partner, Since I have had the Skeeter she has had terrible luck fishing, To the point she's about to quit. She says the boat is jinxed/cursed. When we had the Stratos she always caught fish and quite a few times out fished me from the back of the boat. I told ya it was an odd question but, Can a boat be cursed, Anyone else had this happen ? How do ya get the "curse" outta tha boat ? Me (knock on wood) I haven't noticed much difference other than my wife having bad luck. I/we would appreciate any input. Fished last night from 11;30 til 4;00. Only got 2 lmb and lost 6. Shad did not come up long last night. Water was 77 degrees.

My guess has to do with sparkles. Did the old boat have sparkles? Does the new boat have sparkles? We all know that bass boats with sparkles catch more bass than boats without sparkles. That is why the major bass boat manufactures spend tens of thousands of dollars a year putting sparkles on their boats. ;>)

I have a honey hole you can trailer to up 81 but its a small spot about 20 acres and can only use TM but that's where I got my wife hooked on fishing. Was there last weekend and stopped counting LM's after 20 from the yak. Maybee take her there to catch some to get the funk off?

Just looked to make sure, Yes it does have sparkles. May go to the arts and craft store and get a couple bottles and some glue and add a few more to the back of the boat. Maybe spray her down with that glitter perfume before we go out ?? That probably won't go over real good either. I went through a spell several years back, I could get the fish in the boat, Got plenty of bites and hookups, Just to have them come off beside the boat, Stopped tryin to net them and just flip them in the boat and they'd fall off or break my line. She's fished with me for 26 of the 26 years we been married, Got her into bass fishing about 10 11 yrs ago, On Smith, had a spot for several years about 45 minutes before dark I could pull up and get a limit of 2 - 2 1/2 lb fish. Talked her into throwing a rig in front of the dock, I watched the line jump about a foot off the water and grinned we she looked at the rod all funny, then when he tried to take the rod outta her hand she set the hook, The gears on her 33 srtipped so I helped her hand line him to the boat 3 1/4 lbs. Since then I upgraded her reels to the zebco delta or it may be the omega. Looks like a 33 but has the same gears as a bait caster cost about 60 bucks. She won't much on a baitcaster or spinning reel so I found the next best thing, A push button with baitcaster gears !! Smooth drag too. Year before last she got a 6 lb 8 oz L.M. on a worm I pour. That night She had right at 15 lbs. with four fish I caught one dink. She's caught a pile of 3-4 lb bass. Put in at state park one night dropped the trolling motor about 10;30, At 11;05 She had 6 bass 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 lbs on that same worm and I was throwing a big worm and couldn't get a sniff. She caught fish all around me. I know it's probally just one of them bad luck streaks just hate ta see my fishin buddy so frustrated with it. Thanks for the input.

Have you taught her about peering in the water yet? If not that was always the ticket to break the curse..

As a former authority on sparkley boats I feel it is important to interject here that a primary cause of the reversal of fortune could simply be the lack of coordination in said sparkley package. For instance, in order to properly coordinate such an outfit one also requires sparkley trailer fenders that match the boat sparkleys. One of the most offensive digressions I have ever witnessed was the lack of attention to the graphics package on a motor to compliment the sparkley boat. Of course if you are pulling it around with a truck that doesn't accentuate the BMT you are surely sunk before you have started. A green F150 pulling a burgendy sparkley boat with a gray motor is a recipe for disaster. The only other thing I could suggest is a mask/helmet combination that is of the same pattern and style as the boat graphics and perhaps a matching jacket. I don't know how to make a jacket sparkley but my daughter mentioned a product called a "bedazzler", perhaps that would work. If not buy her some jewelry and go fishing without her...it works for me.

What kind of "sparkles" are needed for a biminy top?

That is a trick question...the answer is "dinky ones".
