WT 61. AT 62. More blues and ales off the dock lite. Didn’t set out any shad today. Increased hook size to 2/0. 20’ leash behind boards and corks. Fished 2.5 hrs, cleared out just before the rain. 25.5”, 26.5”. 5 pull backs. Marked mainly single fish. Some small schools.

"20 ft leash behind boards and corks"....wow, that seems like alot. Do you always fish it that far back? And why? I'm probably only fishing 5-10 ft leash, but now you've got me wondering if that's too short.

If I'm running right up against the shore, I run about 7' behind the boards. I have been running maybe 20' off the bank for my board closest to shore. I like to give the bait plenty of line when I can so that it can do whatever it wants (go a little deeper or stay closer to the surface).

I’m with bailout. I want my bait trapped against the surface at this time of year. It’s much easier for the stripers to see them, and catch them. Always less than 10’ of leader behind my boards until late June.

Great to see some reports. I live in FL and I'll be heading up next week. Hopefully I can chime in here if I can find some fish. Hoping to get away with artificial only.

It's rare that I enter the site when there aren't people viewing the forum. I personally think it's a bit selfish to use the site and not issue some reports when you are on SML fishing. I've learned a lot from this site and try to give back what I can.
