I just got down to the lake and I am planning on trying to do some fishing on Saturday. I haven't been out on the water since July!! I am not really sure what the fish are doing or where the bait is at... My plan right now is to fill up the bait tank with whatever bait is hanging out under my dock light in the morning. Then drive around scouting of a while and try and look like I know what I am doing. Then I will probably put out a few spreads and see what happens. I will try and post a report on Saturday night or Sunday if I have time and let you guys know how the fishing went.
If someone is up for trying to fill me in on what the fish or doing or maybe where I might want to start looking for a few fish that would be great.

Good luck with the bait - it was TOUGH this morning - only one or two under my light up my way at 6, Mark through few a couple of hours near the bridge to get a 20 or so small alewives. Birds everywhere at 6:30a from 30 down past the bridge, but didn't see any fish under them and by 7:30 the birds were all pretty much back at Bridgewater sitting on their butts. The question is..... is it winter still or is it spring? ;D

Mike, Are you fishing in the morning?
Bait has been tough! Well that isn't want I was hoping to hear. ... My dock light seem to usually pull them in.. I guess we will see what happens... I can tell you right now I do not have any plan on driving around the the lake in the morning looking for bait in the dark. It is supposed to get down to 26 in the morning. To cold for me..

Yea like Mward said bait was a pain this am. The light that normally produces good for me was sparce. Only getting 1 or 2 alwives every other throw. 2 Weekends ago I loaded up in 2 throws with a mix of Alwives and Gizzards. This crazy weather might be messing things up. I do have a video of Mward catching some BIG "bait" this morning I will try to get it edited down and posted in my report tomorrow when I have some time. Hopefully it isnt as windy for you as it was for us today. Cut the TM off and the wind would blow us 1.7 MPH

One throw n done for us today. SScan and a gazillion hours tracking these things over the years helps to make it look easy. Oh and didn't get out til noon..that helps. And for anybody who thought a 10-12lb Striper wouldn't eat a 14" bait in 43deg (cold) water. Think again. Went back for more on way home Did good on the baits..stripers not so much. 43-45deg water. Week or two away from some fantastic fishing!

Was 46-47 on the surface this afternoon. Some places the bait was still deep - others not so much.

BentRod, Have you been using a stinger hook on the big gizzard shad?
Also, how has your 30 gallon Supper II been doing with holding big bait?
