Decided to head out yesterday with the spring like temperatures we are having. Was planning to fish with gizzards on downlines. Went looking for bait in a spot that was great last year up near the bridge, and there was no bait. Headed up river and eventually found a wall of bait in 40 feet. Got plenty of the size I was looking for, I was looking for dollar bills. Headed to the spot. Rigged up the downlines and marked a lot of fish and caught one right off the bat. Fished the rest of the day with a lot of marked fish but no takers, sun was starting to go down and I was running out of bait so I headed to get a few more, and all I could get were big 7” gizzards or so. Went back to where I was fishing all day, and when the sun went below the mountains it was like someone flipped a switch. There were stripers everywhere, and I caught a good few on some big gizzards, so it was a good day! It doesn’t feel like December out there
