Hi Mike - appreciate the well thought out reply. Maybe the timing of the decline of posts is just a coincidence and due to other external factors - maybe not - doubt we will ever know for sure, but I do miss those days. Reading several reports from any given weekend when I wasn't able to get to the lake was always a joy and one I have certainly missed. And please, do not take my comments as disparaging the Mafia tournaments in any way, I think you and the team do a wonderful job with them and they help the community and have a whole host of wonderful benefits. I guess I just have some nostalgia for the way the forum used to be and after reading a few tourney reports of how many boats were in certain spots and how hard they were to fish, it sure seems the reports dried up after that. But as you put it so well, the two may not be related, it is just my opinion that it has at least contributed to the decline. To be honest, the mafia tourneys totally impacted my desire to share information with anyone, especially MWard! Secondly, my relationships with many on this forum who are in the tourneys have gone from an open book to smoke screens. Deception has become an accepted norm, similar to poker. It's just the way it is! And frankly, I don't really mind at all. However, my lack of posting on this forum is more the fact of running out of new material. My only goal was to entertain myself and maybe even others. Bottom line, I ain't got nothing new! I'm still searching for that 30 pounder! And if it ever comes, this forum will be the first to know! I miss the the old forum as well. But for many, these are the good ole days. A new guy with a refreshing new spark of energy is all we need!

Hey Yam, yeah I deleted my user account again. Will bigun3 work? To be honest, I got aggravated with logging in and no one ever posting. Say the word and I can stir things up.

If we could only round up Wish, 391, Yellowdog, BigJon, Leo, and that old dude that was the bass master 😉. The current guys wouldn’t know what tornado hit 😂😂

By all means bigunX... stir away. Every person I know who used to post, still reads this forum on a regular basis. I suppose most don't contribute much because they don't have any value to add or they don't feel like saying the same things over and over.
Heck, since the mafia tournaments began, MWard doesn't even fish anymore. Stir.. Stir.....

I can’t speak for anybody else, but my boat hasn’t been used in 20 months. Well, it was used once for literally 2 min, then it up and died. Once I get the boat fixed, I’ll post a report (probably of it dying again and me sinking it to the bottom of the lake). I can’t seem to find the time to even drag it over to a shop, much less to try to tackle it myself.
I also don’t have the time to read what Mward posted above - anybody have a cliff notes version?

I still do check the forum regular. I will say I am glad that I got in here when I did spring of 2016. I learned a ton from this forum and am most appreciative, but I also put in the work and didn't catch a lot my first year. But I gave back the info I gained and earned a lot of respect from the regulars. That is what it takes to build connections. Work can also be in the form of reading past reports not just asking first. I have noticed a sharp decline in activity as well. I think most of the decline is coming from this world we live in now days where everything is at the fingertips. No one wants to make a connection anymore and wants everyone to put the darn fish in there boat for them. Heck I doubt most will get through this post because I haven't gave away a fishing hole yet. I don't post as much because I don't fish as much as when I first got started. I hate the one and done posts of where can I catch a fish tomorrow. Or after I just bait hunted for 6 hours, the were is the biggest bait at when you haven't even tried to catch any. I don't mind helping people but you have to show you can help yourself a little. I agree with, we don't have any new people on here that really want to learn the fishery and willing to contribute. You can see the post numbers under everyone's screen name and tell who contributes and who doesn't. Thinking about it just about everyone on here that is a regular I have your Cell number, your email, or messenger now. So I think a lot of the regulars share info that way. If I need a report or a tip I call or text them first. With all that said I would like to see this forum get kicking again, especially the classifieds. I mean dang is everyone a hoarder now too.

HEY, I remember those guys. lots of good memories. For sure, good times. I miss the “real” meet & greets at the Westlake Waterfront - not the lame lunch ones Bentrod and I put on in more recent years 😂

This is the first time I have been on here in a few months.
I am thankful for the forum and all the input. It was because of this forum I met my best friend Jason Lawrence and am very grateful. The forum has introduced me to several other good friends as well. If I start mentioning names, I will forget one.
I have stopped posting reports for 2 reasons. 1. I see a lot of pics on fb. 2. It seemed like my motivation to post a report was to get a pat on the back for my catch. I didn't like that. Also, I didn't want my reports to rub it in to people who have a hard time catching fish.
Here some quick humor from the last tournament: Years ago at the first tournament I had to download or I was going to DQ. Gator quickly responded to me about using a bucket. Ok, I have used the bucket method several times since then. This past Sat at 2:45pm the urge hit as I was putting things up to head back in. I still had 3 boards out. Wouldn't you know it, one board took off. I caught the fish that put me in the money. True story!

I always looked at it as encouragement to those that are just learning. I love reading reports when I'm not fishing. I promise, if you will start posting again, i won't like your reports if you don't want me to.

Thanks mwardncsu. I like you am getting older and just dont get out and fish like i used to. That being said it is nice to have a site to go to to get an idea on method and general area where one could give it a try when we do get to go. If one ask for this info one should feel obligated to report back as to how you did and be willing to help others as well. This is of coarse just my opinion.
