Those of you that have participated in the Striper Mafia events know that we believe in using the tournaments as a way to give back. With our November tourney being a week before Veterans Day this year, we wanted to do something that would be focused on those that have gone to serve for us as a Nation. As such, in November we are going to raise funds for Mission 22 - www.mission22.com. Mission 22 is a non-profit who combats the ever-rising veteran suicide rate. Every day, more than twenty veterans are lost to suicide. Mission 22 wants to bring that number to zero. It does this with three main programs; veteran treatment programs, memorials and national awareness. We will be raffling off 4 gimble rod holder Flag pole mounts, custom made by Scruggs Stainless & Aluminum Works, paired with an American flag so that you can show your support of our Veterans on the water today and everyday. Tickets will be $10 ea or 7 for $50. Will post pics of the flag poles here soon - but hope that you will all come out and support this cause! You don't have to fish in the tournament to participate.

You can pre-register for the tourney over at www.StriperMafia.com/registrationIf you're interested in just participating in the raffle - the easiest way would be to come to the post-tourney check-in - check-in closes at 5pm on Sat at Hot Shots on VA-122 (next to Conrad Brothers) between Westlake and Halesford Bridge - need to be present to win. Can also come by the Captain's Meeting on Fri evening at Halesford Harbor Inn and purchase tickets there.

We sent a donation of $550 today on behalf of our Striper Mafia Fall Brawl anglers to Mission 22 to support their work in the war on Veteran suicide. If you were not able to be a part of the Fall Brawl, but feel compelled to support this cause, you can contribute via the Donate button below. Thanks again to all the anglers that participated as well as Joey at Scruggs Stainless & Aluminum Works for donating the gimbal mount flag poles that accompanied the American flags which were raffled off to raise these funds. We hope that the winners fly those flags with pride and think of those that served for our Country.
