So, I had my first experience this morning pigtail swivels.. WOW.. I hated them.. It took me much longer to get them on and off.. I am sure I will get better with them over time... I know most people really like them but, any of you guys ever just not like them and go back to using old school snap swivels?

must just be a learning curve - I grab the line, double it over twist the wrist and the line is on/off.... I can't stand the traditional clips - especially in the winter...

Yeah, I plan on walking down to boat here soon and get some much needed practice in.. My dad had put them on and I didn't even know they were on there until I went to put out my spread.. Probably not the best time to learn something new..

Yes - you make a loop in the line, and then just feed the loop around wire of the pig-tail - think of like you were playing one of those electric buzzer games where you have to guide the loop down the corkscrew on the base - just in this case you can touch the sides

and same thing to take them off..... grab the line to form a loop and just "twist" off - should be under 2 seconds.

Yep took me a min to figure them out at first too but now I love them. I have had newbies on the boat though figure a way to pull them apart.

The pigtails are the only way to go, its a small learning curve, twist, pinch and pull.......My 9 yo has it mastered, I know you can do it!
Protip - Waterbugz has them on the website for sale, and they are the good brass ones....
Good Luck!

Wait till your fingers are cold.... you'll absolutely love them then. My fingers get so cold I can't open a snap, but these are no problem to use....!

This is the first I’ve heard of pigtail swivels, what are they? You attach them to boards or your line?

This is the first I’ve heard of pigtail swivels, what are they? You attach them to boards or your line? You replace the swivel on the board that is used to attach it to the line The ones most folks use are made by Offshore Tackle
