I'm sure you guys have experienced this....family responsibilities and and work has taken over! haven't been on the water since early October. Haven't even seen/touched my boat in months. Whoa is me - haha. Hopefully I will get the boat wet soon -

Welcome to my world, dood. You get buttloads of sympathy from me because I know how you feel. Now, 'soon' will be a relative term looking at the long range forecast. I have no (zero) interest in fishing when it's 7 degrees outside. Call me old, weak, and intolerant - I am all of those - but I will not be [that] cold. C'mon spring.
Hang in there, H-billy. Soon.

I feel ya. I have a son that playes baseball, basketball and football. I figure if I have to take him to practice I might as well coach. So a lot of my weekends are on the field or court. Lucky I have plenty of vacation and can sneak down durning the week to fish some. Baseball ends at the end of May for little league where I am so the summer opens up some.

Well, I will admit that it's up to me to make time to go. It's on me to find time and arrange things to make it happen. I will say that I really don't mind the cold weather and fishing in Jan and Feb so much. For me it's a good time to focus on fishing and not be distracted by traffic on the lake and take advantage of the fish not having a lot of pressure. Good equipment (clothes) make the difference. Only thing I've never been able to solve is keeping my hands reasonably warm. Never have found that pair of gloves that works. I just gut that one out -

I just gut that one out - I wore the hand warmer in the pic durning the tournament last weekend. I had two hot hands hand warmers in it and I think I could have heated up a piece of pizza in it. It worked really well. It is neoprene so it sheds the water pretty good. I only wore gloves when we were traveling and I didn’t have my hands in it. First time trying one for fishing and I’ll always have it on in the winter.

H-billy - get you a set of terry cloth wrist bands. The kind tennis players wear. Slip one of those pocket hand warmer packets inside the wrist band (on the inside). It'll do a great job of keeping your hands warm without interfering w/ casting/reeling/etc.

AMMEX - GWBN46100-BX - Nitrile Gloves - Gloveworks - HD, Disposable, Powder Free, Latex Rubber Free, 6 mil, Large, Black (Box of 100) www.amazon.com/dp/B01G346JJ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rB3qCbMG571PAThese work wonders in the winter too, especially if bait fishing or holding fish. They will keep your hands dry, which I think is half the battle of keeping your hands warm. I can usually slide my regular gloves over these when needed.

How could you not welcome a man back that's raised 547 orphans and dances with old women. bigjon is the only man I've ever heard of that eats crayons and chases it with shine. That's what mward says anyways..... don't know if its true or not, you know how fishermen are.
