not around the lake, but my son got a small doe a week ago Sunday and my Nephew got a nice doe on Sat evening on our property in NC - was his 1st deer - shame his parents won't post a pic of it because they are worried what their city-slicker Richmond friends will say  |

Congrats to the boys on their deer.
Those city - slickers that would try to shame these young men would be the very ones with their hands out for some meat if this country fell on hard times. JMHO !

I would like to see them, and I think others would also. I doubt very seriously if anyone here would try to shame those kids, and if someone did, we could then jump in if need be. I sat a few times over thanksgiving weekend, in a ground blind, since i cant throw a net or climb a stand with my knee still. saw a few does, but nothing within safe shooting range. and obviously as i pulled out of our property at the lake to head back to Raleigh, i caught a glimpse of the 9 point ive been after. we'll see if i get time before season ends to catch him slipping up.

I've been there for a quick hunt. Not some much quick. I spent a week in the woods. Been a while since I've been out hunting day and night and had to clean up all my gear. My fishing rods are always being used but no my hunting gear. Can't say that there was much action going on though. |
