Finally had a chance to get back to SML for the first time since June. Planning to fish a tournament next Saturday, so I wanted to get some prefishing in to nail down some patterns. Water temps ranged from 63-64.5 both days. I fished mid lake near the state park and in Betty's creek, so visibility was good, probably >5 feet in some places. Only had a few hours to fish each afternoon, but both days were pretty productive. Caught 8 Saturday, with all but 1 coming on a creature bait flipping lay downs. FThe other hit a shad rap thrown in between 2 docks. Biggest was a solid 3-3.5lbs with a few other in the 2-3 range.
I switched over to cranking Sunday to see if I could get into some larger fish. Caught 2 on a DT10 and 2 on a squarebill. All fish were towards back of creeks, at least in the last 1/3 if not further back. Biggest one again probably went 3lbs. Also managed to get into a few stripers right after dark fishing some main lake points with a crankbait and chatterbait. Biggest one went 30" with a 29" and a 27" as well.

We have our final club tournament this weekend, going out of Scruggs on Saturday, and Hardy on Sunday. Just wondering what else was going on.

Not a huge event but usually brings out 20-30 boats.

Just saw on facebook there's one Sunday out of Captain's Quarters too. SML Bassmasters from 7-4. Might have to do that one too if we do well this coming Saturday.

Pin point! Believe me, it's tough seeing you guys accidentally catch a 5 or 6lb bass pulling shad that would easily take big fish in one of our bass tournaments, so it definitely goes both ways. Heading back down tonight, so I will keep you updated on both the green and the striped fish

Heading back down tonight, so I will keep you updated on both the green and the striped fish I have caught most of my best bass (5 lb+) since i started striper fishing. I never thought I would hook a 6lb bass and be slightly disappointed when I realized it wasn't what I was targeting.
