I went to Philpott today to try my hand at Walleye fishing. Had a fun day and was very pleased with the results! BIG THANKS to johnr, and irons for the tips and advice. You all get the credit for my success today.....and don't worry about me being in your way the next time your there or that i'm going to catch all the fish because the 5 3/4 hour round trip will not be taking place very often. It took me a little while to get on them and get the hang of bottom bouncing, but I eventually found a few. Caught over a dozen (lost track) but only five keepers, and I had to work hard to get the last keeper! Around noon the bite slowed, and I caught two catfish and called it a day. Thanks again guys!

That is some fine table fare right there. I love fishing the 'Pott. Very cool little lake. I only catch walleye by mistake tho'. Caught one close to 4 lbs on a jig during an FoM tournament there a few years back. Had a couple much smaller walleyes on cranks and spinnerbaits.

I've always wanted to fish Phillpot. I can never get a straight answer on what ramp is best. I'd be coming from Salem, any suggestions would be great.
Oh, that is some beautiful Walleye. I'm from the upper Ohio area and Walleye and Yellow perch were the main targets. I have some brand new Erie Deeries just waiting to be pulled.

No particular reason but it seemed like a good central location to try for my first trip. Ramp was very nice and not busy.

+1 on Twin Ridge. All of the CoE ramps are good. The marina ramp is nice if you're working the lower end.

Thank you again. Also want to apologize to ajrod88, did not mean to highjack your thread. Those walleye make my mouth water.
