I headed out early this morning with my daughter. We hit the water at 630. We started off scanning some structure and brush and we found an area about 100 yards long just loaded with fish at 15’. I thought it was too good to be true, but nope they were fish. We caught crappies, bluegills and or bass on every piece of cover in that stretch. Soon after the wake boarders showed up so we moved into some quieter water. Found a dock that looked loaded but the old lady was out sunning herself. We exchanged pleasantries then I asked if we could make a few casts around there. She was cool with it, I mean how could you tell a 3 year old cutie like my kid that We couldn’t fish there? It was a crappie on every daggone cast. That woman was quite surprised. We finished our angling by locating a loaded dock with adjacent brush pile. It was all 10-14” bass on the dock and a bunch of yellow perch on the brush. You never know what you’ll find.
In all, we caught a few dozen crappies, 9-14”. And several more each of bass, sunfish and yellow perch. She ain’t skilled enough to cast yet but she can work a bobby garland back to the boat in a way that is irresistible to fish. She felt the bite and landed several on her own. We capped the trip with ice cream from bridgewater.
All fish released.
