Fished Friday night and Saturday night from dark till midnight. Friday night was fairly active and last night was slower. Anyways we were set up on main lake points fishing live bream and gizzards.

Those are some really nice flatheads.
What size hooks do you like to use for live baiting those big boys, also do you perfer j or circles hooks?

Congrats! Those are some really nice flatheads. What size hooks do you like to use for live baiting those big boys, also do you perfer j or circles hooks? Typically I use a 7/0 j hook. Flatheads like to pick the bait up and mouth it or turn it before trying to swallow. So a circle hook with the reel engaged they feel the resistance and drop the baits. I like a j hook with the clicker on. Let em run on the clicker, point that rod towards the fish and soon as you feel the line pulling tight set the hook.

Thanks slinger. I 've caught several, but only as bi-catch while targeting other species. Might give um a try sometime.
