Yes, I was the brave soul that was out in that boat rodeo on Saturday crappie fishing. That was entertaining. I took the father in law and my 12 year old daughter out for a morning of supper gathering. We were fishing a mid Roanoke creek. At daylight I was in what has been my honey hole for two years, a nice secret spot where all the brush is below water and it always produces. It was dry for the first time. I figured the cooler temps had pushed them deeper so we backed out to some deeper water on docks I had already scouted. We did very well. Most came on minnows, but a few came on jigs. We ended up with 25 or 30 with the 12 biggest coming to supper with us. We also had a few bass, one of which I know we could have got good money for if I had just held it up and announced a sale. Surely one of the 5 or so bass boats that were always in sight would have forked up dough.
