I have used mono my whole life and just recently i learned the difference between braid, mono, and floro. I have come to live floro 15lb have become my top line choice. So i am asking you guys to get your opinion on line brands and types, and which ones you like best???
Thanks, Penhook

Seaguar invisx and abrasx for fluoro, Power-pro for braid, Trilene XL for mono.

For braid, I like 4ORCE and DOMIN8 by Tuf-Line. One is a 4-filament line, the other is an 8-filament. Both are the best I've ever used, braid-wise.
For mono/co-poly, I like McCoy Mean Green, Silver Thread AN40 and Sunline Super Natural. Use plenty of old-fashioned Stren, as well...
For flouro, I like Seaguar InvisX, Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Sunline Sniper.

for mono, its hard to go wrong with Big Game. for more finesse options though, i love Sufix lines, mainly Siege but also use the Promix and Elite on a couple reels. i used to love Trilene XL, but it has serious fraying issues. Sufix is comparable to the Trilene XL as far as suppleness of the line, but the Sufix doesnt fray near as much and is stronger.
for fluorocarbon, i tried it once. invisible underwater is a fallacy, atleast for the brand i tried(cant remember, been awhile). the bluegill were swimming up and literally attacking my line. couldnt get rid of it quick enough. for the price, its no better than mono to me.
braid, well never tried it. hear good things about the Sufix 832 though...
ive used mono for everything all my life, its worked well enough that i dont see much need to change. though i do intend on trying braid eventually, as i believe it will give me an advantage in some situations

update, i had a couple BPS gift card totaling $50 so i placed an order. first i replaced my old 8yo pflueger trion with a new trion of the same size. decided to go with braid since its a smaller sized reel that i used for mostly panfishing and light lures. i will put a mono backing and spool the rest up with the 150 yard spool of sufix performance braid. hopefully coming down to SML on Memorial Day weekend, cant wait to try it out. oddly im sitting here and cant remember what size braid i ordered lol
also bought a new bottle of KVD Line and Lure. This stuff works great. I use it when spooling a reel, and the night before a fishing trip. if i leave a reel sitting all winter, the mono line will went to come off in coily loops and wrap around the rod tip and stuff like that, spray it the night before with the KVD L&L and all of that goes away and is never an issue. Id recommend it to anyone

I use big game or the Cajun red 17 to 25lb on my mono rods aka boards and live bait... For jigging, casting rods I use 50-65lb braid to 20-25lb fluoro leader. For short heavy boat rods that I pull U rigs on I use 65-85lb braid no leader. Not picky on brand of braid, its braid.... I use palomar knot when I can, if not, a simple double clinch. Flouro to braid I use the Albright. Alberto looks good too but u have to make shure u come out w the tag end right or it will slip.... Havent lost one yet to line or knot malfunction. Knock on head...
