I would like to move my sbt under the leaning post The problem is the rear bar is welded on. I thought about just cutting them and putting some type of plastic ends but thought I would ask first if anyone could recommend someone who could make it look professional. could even fix it like the front so I could put it back if I ever wanted to. I appreciate your help.

If you wanted to do something yourself you could cut it off and leave about an inch tab. Then find rubber caps to slide over. Then find a smaller peice of pipe the same as the ID measurement, cut down to about 4 inches and drill holes in both ends that away you could slide back on and just pin it. Sorry if it doesn't make sense it's the best way I could think of explaining.

Not sure where you are located but there is a guy in Lynchburg that does awesome work and will do custom jobs. He did a custom job for me ,told him what I wanted and he did it. Reasonable as well . R22 on this site also had him do some work to his leaning post and i believe he was pleased as well. Google Wahoo industries in Lynchburg , believe his name is Jarod.

Great idea's I think I am going with both If I cut the bar off where it goes straight shorten it a bit and have them weld larger circles on all 4 ends will take place of the plastic caps then I could just bolt it back together through the flange. Almost like the flange that bolts it to the boat.
Thank SeaJay as well I will give them a call.
