It's been pretty dry...
Look at inflows. Almost record lows for this time of year and most of the summer compared to average years.
With the new regs, leesville has to be kept fuller. So sml can't keep as much water.
Low water is good once in a while.

Isn't that going to make some ramps and docks inaccessible especially if the new norm is 793 and the regular fluctuation goes down to 790?

Isn't that going to make some ramps and docks inaccessible especially if the new norm is 793 and the regular fluctuation goes down to 790? The typical drain/pump cycle is about a one-foot swing. Who said anything about 793 being a new norm? Not heard anything changing 794.whatever as normal pond and 795 being full pond. 793 is not atypical for late fall in a dry year. Some of the ramps definately get tricky at or below 793 - as do the backs of some creeks with docks.

Dang - I'm gonna have to go fishing - low water years have typically been great fishing.

When it does rain enough to make up for deficit it's gonna be a mud puddle.

It's really not all that low for early fall - somewhat typical to see a drop late summer/early fall. Believe it was this low a couple falls ago. I think it was 2012 maybe where it got down to about 789 - needed an 8ft ladder to get from the boat onto the dock, but we caught A LOT of fish that fall.
Hoping to get out this weekend - I'll report back if I do. Likely it will be a report of "my boat wouldn't crank or the trolling motor died" but here's to hoping for the best!
