One of the fish we cleaned this past weekend at SML had these hard little black BBs in the rib cage lining. See pic below. Does anybody have any idea what they are? I don't recall seeing this before. Thanks! Attachments:

that looks like what i had in the deer i killed this year. also had large ones. i took it to the fish and game biologist in lynchburg. he said it was just lymph nodes. i think you can send them a photo, i would call first. i never seen it in any deer before this year. both buck and doe had it.

i was looking around on the net and it my be a type of fluke. i would send photos to the biologist. keep us posted.

It could be neascus. But it does not look like cases I have seen in the past. What I see is so close to blood vessels it almost looks like some type of clotting.

Thats a normal thing. I dont know what they are. But i reckon theyre there for a reason. As i seen ya it in most of them.

Ok, thanks for the replies guys. I hadn't seen them before. I did pull a couple out. They were hard like seed and you could squish them.
