I got off work Friday at 7, rushed and got the boat hooked up and went down to Hardy to catch bait, while it looked like the James River running thru I was fortunate to load up on bait quick, loaded the boat back up and rushed to Indian pointe to put in, when I realized I had blown two fuses and couldn't get my Nav lights or electronics on, so I rushed back to Duck in just as they were closing and bought about 10 fuses lol. I finally was on the water and anchored up around 10, caught about an 8 lb. Flathead off the bat, then it was slow going until I hooked up on a good one around midnight, who put up a heck of a fight as I was trying to net him, he rolled back out of the net and took off, finally got him beside the boat and got the Bogos on his lip which resulted in a 25.58 lb. stud, I was pumped so I loaded him in my bait tank and hauled it to Gills creek, I held the lead until Sunday at about 1 in the morning a 29 lb. was checked in, going in to check in Sunday i felt good with 2nd especially with the cold and windy conditions all weekend, when with 40 minutes till close of the tournament a guy brought a 27 lber in, man what a shot to the face! But for whatever reason we may never know, he left and didn't show back up for roll call and I moved back to 2nd! If course around 12:20 here he comes and after some words and debating the Tournament director awarded us both 2nd and paid us right, although he did me fair I mentioned all he did was probably cause issues going forward, with not sticking with the rules, allowing others to say "well you let that guy miss roll call" other than that bump in the road it was a great weekend and fun tournament, even got to see my good friend Chris Bolt win the largemouth class and Tyler take home the Striper category!

Congrats again! Tough conditions and stuck it out!
Hated to see that end of tourney drama and glad they did the right thing at least by paying out two seconds when they decided to allow him to stay in second vs pushing you down to third. Always a tough thing as a tourney director to have to make some calls like that and someone is always not going to like it but you make the best call you can in the spirit of the competition that is fair to all.

Congratulations.... That was a nice fish. We could not buy a bite even with a buffet of bluegill, crappie, and shad. Wind blew us around most of the night.
