Not having much luck catching bait so decided just to bass fish. 12:00-5:00 AT-55-75 WT-49-58 (big swing!) Put in at moomans (wow, what a crowd) and fished down to R47 area. Jumping Run WT about 54 and plenty of shad flipping in there but I had already given up on them. Warmer water closer to moormans found up to 58 along the way in north coves. Water was fairly clear for this time of year. Lake is turning over !! Rusty water in the backs of several coves. Tried to fish main staging points but every one had a boat on it so I went to secondary points. Caught bass in backs of small cuts in the rusty water. Nothing big, best was about 15". I think all males looking to move up. Jerk bait was best option. The light switch is going to come on in the next week or 2!! Can't wait for the night bite:)

Supposedly that's not a turn-over. We saw he same about three weeks back after a warm spurt. Think it's an algae bloom of some sort.

I noticed the same in some coves as well and the smaller bait fish seemed (to me) to be in larger than normal schools and in those areas. Also found LOTS of small <12" bass and white perch around. Just speculation on my part...

I saw the same ring of rusty water in some cuts Saturday. Got excited at first thinking bait might be rooting around and churning things up but that wasn't the case. That traffic was nuts in the afternoon. Thanks for the report.

I put in at Hardy on the 29th. Water very murky but temp around 65 there. Went down toward r50's and water alittle more clear but 8 degrees colder. Didnt have much luck except on senko. Is one side of lake better than another? Usually fish alone and only 25 minutes from Hardy so that is where I go.
