I am looking for someone in the lake or Roanoke area that does custom fiberglass work. I've seen Harley and Jason's boat that they cut front console out and they look great but before I tackle this is like to talk with someone about making a mold with a seat that slides over bait tank to put in rear of boat. I like Mike w. Leaning post but kind of like being different haha. If anyone has a person in mind please let me know thanks.

I had my front seat cut off. The boat fishes much better without the seat.. This link should take you to the pictures. Just scroll down to the bottom of the thread: smlfishingforums.proboards.com/thread/20/fishon-2010-sea-hunt-xp19The whole process was a nightmare but, it all ended up working out, for me in the end. But, I wouldn't recommend the guy I used.

I recommend a saws all. Haha. If you can put the motor together you can do the fiber glass work.

Now cutting a big hole in boat that will be there and you only have one shot, scares the hell out of me haha. Might need to ride over and see lund for a paint can or two first.

I think you should considering doing it yourself as well. Unless you could find an reputable fiberglass guy by way of referral. The guy that did mine basically just used plywood backing and then covered it with layers of fiberglass and then had someone paint it.. Doesn't Seem like it would be very hard to do.. Buying all the Materials will be expensive but, if you had an issue in the future you would already have the experience, tools and materials to fix any problems that might arise.
Good luck..
If you do the modification I would enjoy seeing some before and after pics.

I'm confused - are you cutting the center console seat off or are you trying to build a fiberglass leaning post type thing? Or both? There may be a slight difference in the difficulty of the two ha.

If I go leaning post I'll definitely pay .

If you are cutting the console off you could always just buy a new console with a flat front. I know there are quite a few marine surplus stores out there that sell consoles.

I thought of this route as well thanks . Really confused on what I want. I've seen so many other set ups and every boat fits its owner to there specs right or wrong. I just haven't figured out what the right one is for my needs hahah
