I decided to venture out beyond Tim Wadeville and just ordered an 11', 1.3lb, 5/8'' mesh net from Black Pearl. It seemed like a good advancement from my 10' 1.25lb Wade.....I know...not a Tim Wade?? Blasphemy!! I'm intrigued by the BP feature that places round lead much closer together then normal. They claim it reduces the lead line to braille tangle I struggle with a lot.
I'll report how I like it in 2 weeks....unless of course Lund2 gets there first....

What's next?
Let me guess. ditching the Dannco and using mono as a leader?
You rebel!

Thats funny! I hung my net up this past weekend on something and destroyed it and ordered the exact same net Monday morning! Gonna try and fix my old net by replacing the braille lines and will add some tape to it as well.

add some tape to it as well. coheasion, what type/brand of tape are you thinking about using? I would like to try it also and not sure what type would be best dealing with water.

Well - the Black Pearl nets seem to be very heavy duty and built to last with an oversized horn and very thick netting material....but I bought the 11' 1.65 lbs per foot version and that dang thing is just too heavy to throw properly for me.
I am going to cut some of the leads off and I will report back after that how I like it. Looking forward to hearing Lund1's thoughts as he bought the 1.3lb per foot model and I'm sure it will throw quite a bit better.

Short answer - save your money and look for something else.
The full review - it is a very strong, well built and tough net with very thick mono that makes it very thick in the hand and tough to throw well. Also makes it seem very heavy when pulling the net up from deep due to the drag. The mono seems to be good quality and is very supple....there is just a LOT of it making the net very difficult to load properly and throw. I did buy the 11' version and I wish now I had bought the 9'.

Ditto Coheason...it's a beast. Biggest complaint is the heavy mono. I can barely get my hands around it all....and before I hear a bunch of snide remarks regarding hand size...I can say mine have done just fine for 59 years. This past weekend Lund2 threw it pretty well...and Gator wanted to take a toss or two...but I told him to stay on the bow and keep throwing....and throwing....the Tim Wade. It was no time for games. I do like the segmented horn and close weights on the lead line...not sure if it lessens tangles or not.... but it's not as good as a TW....my 2 cents.
