Week after Black Friday

I had 17 kinfolk, all from out of area at my house over Thanksgiving. Five of us went out day after Turkey Day. We put in at state ramp at the bridge and went up river to catch bait. It was a little foggy going up but did manage to see some birds working. Did not stop as I wanted to get bait and get the kin folk catching fish. Caught bait and put lines out and had one on before I could put out another line. Had a great day with the nephews and my two sons. They were well into double digits before we left around 3. We fished from Grimes up to Moormans in the creeks and main channel.
Went back the following Thursday by myself as two different nephews that did not fish before were coming back in on Friday to fish Saturday. Thursday was a good day and fish were in same places as before. Did not see any birds on Thursday.
Took the nephews out on Saturday and had plenty of deer sausage cooked up to eat on the boat. They brought it with them and that was some good eating. Launched before daybreak from bridge and did the same thing as the previous days with the same results. Kept a few small ones for them to eat. Most fish were slot fish with the exception of two that weighed 20 and 22 pounds on the boga grips. Both released. I'm gonna figure out some day how to post pics. Planning on going out either Sat or Sun this week.

Good report 198vx - sounds like a blast..... hope to get out Sat or Sun for a while to see if there are some birds to chase.....

ok thanks. i know at leesville the only action i had was on down lines. it doesnt look like i will be able to fish the roanoke this year, too much gas for me. i may try to get out on bw side soon. i havent done much there, not sure if the bait is still catchable for me.
