I bass fished in gills creek 3 times in the past week, hoping to find some decent bass for a small church tournament this Saturday . the shad are loaded in there and the stripers also. I could only come up with a half dozen 10- 14 in fish. can anyone shine a light this way to help me some? thanks. oh yeah I did catch two stripers today on a fluke 26, and 29 in

I'm in a canoe with a trolling motor up Indian Point/Grimes Creek way, so can't give you specific Gills information, but up here it seems like big (5"+), DARK (green pumpkin, watermelon, black, june bug purple) senko worms on a weightless wacky rig have been consistently getting me bass in the 4+ lb range. You of course can't avoid the smaller LMBs or smallmouth from nailing them, but fishing crankbait, buzzbait, or smaller plastic like tubes just doesn't seem to be piquing the interest of the hogs for me. Finding em at near shore dropoffs with natural structure, usually only 3-4 ft deep. Nabbed this 5.5 pounder at dusk on Friday night 11/11/16. Not super long, but fat fat fat! Best of luck to ya!

thanks jake, I sat a looked at the map and thought the north shores , and Indian ridge should be good at this time of year, but I couldn't get there to pre fish anymore, so I just stayed in gills creek, only 2 small keepers, finished 4 th or 5 th out of 8 boats, now I wish I would have went on and fished those areas. I think 9lb 10 oz won. thanks for replying , nice fish !!!
