Anyone here have any first hand experience with this trolling motor. Looking to upgrade but also looking for some feedback. Thanks

Have had one since late spring /early summer and love it
I do know of a couple of instances where the belt that raises and lowers the unit has snapped - all on skiffs - not sure if the root cause was figured out or not. The issue when that belt snaps is it will deploy - even if stowed....

Two breaks I know of came on the same boat. It sure how wide spread and issue it is. I've heard of a few cases of the belt coming loose in the head where it's attached. Not sure if this was an early production issue or not. The problem is you can't just reattach it - has to go to a service center as the system has to be calibrated or something

My dad has one and loves it. I get spoiled when im with him and think ill get one as well one day. I like the trim function more then self deploy just for my shallow bait catching.

Thanks for the help. Can the motor be deployed and stoyed manually if you have to for some reason?

It can be manually stowed with use of a screwdriver I believe. It you have tonthen strap it in with the emergency strap and you're done for the day (or week or however long it takes to get service)

I have had one for awhile and really like it. I especially like the capability to trim it up and down for catching bait and bow fishing in the shallows. Especially nice if you fish by yourself. One negative is not as easy to install a transducer

thanks guys. I have a ram mount now that i use on my terrova. So I was thinking of using the ram mount when hauling down the road, long runs on the water and when it gets really rough. But we jump around when fishing for stripers on top and it would be great to not leave the back of the boat each time to deploy the trolling motor.

The guy I know that had issues has one of those RAM mounts to secure it. I kinda wonder it that was somehow part of the problem but it seemed the belt broke away from the ball clamp on the shaft so I don't know. Maybe it was just a batch of bad belts or something as I've not read a ton of issues about this elsewhere but it has seemed to happen. Knock on wood I've not had an issue - yet...

My friend had it secured down and broke a belt attempting to lower his. He said its easy to forget you have it secured.
