Straight va broken lines is a characteristic but not a totally determining factor. Hybrids are also shorter / stockier and the head to shoulders shape is different Yup. Once you see a few hybrids you will NEVER confuse them with the purebreds. Here's a few that we pulled out of Anna this past year. Broken stripes, from what I have heard, is just genetic abnormality.

Pete, We caught that one about 4 years ago but if I remember right it was 14 pounds. It was the biggest hybrid I'd ever seen. We released it so it might be bigger yet.

I've only had hummingbirds and thought they were good units. Was going to make the switch to lowrance until I found out they weren't compatible with the min Kota trolling motors which I prefer to motorguide
