I have been looking at some thin breathable bibs for throwing the net and staying dry. Columbia angler series look nice. Has anyone used this brand? If so how do they hold up? Or does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

I've tried many options. Grundens is my favorite. You can get various thicknesses for various weather conditions. The thicker stuff will burn you up in the Fall. The great thing about Grundens is it dries super fast and doesn't get stinky.

Yam, I see that you got Kurt hooked on them also. Do you get wet/sweaty inside of there?

No, I don't get hot nor sweaty anymore than I would with anything else because I have a thin material (Petrus) for warmer weather and a thicker material for colder weather. I like my Petrus pullover shirt for all seasons because I am either pulling it over my skin in the summer or all of my winter clothes in the winter.

I like the ones that give me easy access to my junk. Grundens don't give you that option so you have to pull it all the way over the top.

So there is the answer. Guess it depends if you have to go thru or have the ability to go over.

However all you have to do is unclip the suspenders and pull them down a tad. When you are done doing whatever it is you need to do with your junk, the suspenders are still over your shoulders and can easily be reclipped. It's no more difficult than unzipping and certainly eliminates the risk of zipping up your junk.

I have had several different sets, bass pro Gore-Tex rain gear, the new huk breathable rain gear which are very thin and tore on my first trip out, and was not impressed with their durability. I recently bought a Sims Breathable suit and am very impressed, keep you dry in downpours and dry quickly. Priced competitively to other suits in its class. just my 2 cents

I have several different suits that I use. The one I like the best is Bone-Dry from Bass Pro. Easy on/off, comfortable, not too hot, lots of pockets, washable and a long zipper in the front. I never get wet using them. Unlike a few I have with snaps or buttons, they have zipper covers made with Velcro that prevents the net from ever catching on them.
