Striper Mafia Fall Classic - October 29, 2016

REGISTRATION FOR THE OCTOBER EVENT IS NOW ON A WAIT-LIST BASIS AT THIS POINT SHOULD A TEAM NOT BE ABLE TO FISH IN OCT AND NOTIFIES US IN TIME - BUT WE HAVE HAD A FEW TEAM DROP AND EXPECT TO BE ABLE TO CLEAR AT LEAST A COPLE MORE TEAMS IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED


Initial details regarding the October 29th, Striper Mafia tournament is up live on the website - and REGISTRATION IS NOW FULL! WAIT LIST WILL BE ACCEPTED IN CASE SOME TEAMS CANNOT MAKE IT

At this time we will have a maximum of 50 60 teams for the October event, so sign up ASAP! (We've extended the cap to 60 teams for the October event due to high demand)

A few key tournament details:
$100 entry per team (max of 4 anglers/team)
$25 Optional Big Fish Pot - 100% payout

The more teams, the more places we'll pay out - details of payout on the website, but basically 1 place for 1-10 teams, 2 places for 11-20, 3 places for 21-30; 4 places for 31-40; and 5 places for 41-50 teams. We will also award 10% of entry fees as a raffle to one or more non-placing teams, so even if you have a tough day you have a chance to win $$$ - not to mention raffle prizes that all anglers are eligible for. As we finalize our sponsor details in the coming week or two, we hope to be able to add "kicker prizes" some of the tournament and/or big fish payouts to sweeten the pot even further.

We'll finalize details on Captain's Meeting times & "lines in" over the coming few weeks, but for October we'll hold the Captain's meeting on Fri evening and the post-tournament check-in / awards at Halesford Harbour Inn.

We strongly encourage you to pre-register for the event(s) - helps us with our planning - though you can sign up day-of at the Captain's Meeting - but if we are up against our 50 team maximum then those pre-registered will have 1st shot.

Just a bit over a day after opening registration, over 50% of the team slots have been registered. We're finalizing a few more sponsor details and it's shaping up to be another great tournament / series! Hope to see you all there!

Is registration open for October only or all four events?

It's open for all events at this time - if you registered for events other than Oct we have them - just haven't sent out confrontations for any registrations other than Oct at this point

Oh, and as of last night we passed 75% registration for the 50 team cap in Oct.

MWard, your tireless devotion to our fishery is a thing of beauty. Thank you for all you do! Your management of our community through being an active president of the striper club, a politically correct forum administrator, and a top-notch tournament director has no doubt made me a better fisherman and problem solver. And I suppose many others feel the same. We are extremely lucky to have you here at SML and I pray you will never leave.

Yam - thanks for the kind words but there are a lot of folks that make all that above happen as well.... the things that I most enjoy from the tournament series are being made possible by others who want to remain nameless - and their generosity is just amazing.


Now as to the weather - we've been in contact and have been promised that after this coming week our asks will begin to be acted upon.....

You asked - we delivered - how's 2.7" of rain this morning in Roanoke and 2.6" in Gretna and almost 5" in SW Roanoke County..... working on your 50's night-temps... arranging for 70's next week for highs with low's in the mid 50's at least....

Could possibly be what's in between the knees and not the knee itself causing the "pain". Just trying to be a better problem solver yam 😉
