I'm glad someone decided it was a good idea to put outhouses at all the public ramps. Smelling sh*t every time I put in and take out sure is nice. They seriously need to get a better job done of cleaning them.

Beats stepping in it. Seen a few piles near some of the ramps without johnny houses around the lake which I think is way worse lol. But you are right they dont pump those suckers often enough during tourist season

Wish they would replace the ones that used to be at Hardy. But some low life burned those down, so don't guess there will more placed at that location.

Last weekend I'm pretty sure there was some type of toilet at Hardy. That outdoor Ozzy Osborne concert smell punched me in the throat as I rushed my boat up the ramp and out of there! Whoever burned the last one down is a hero in my eyes!  |

Always wondered why the porta-jons were removed. Would be nice if there where some more installed.
My wife, mother and daughter do not like to fish that area due to lack of restroom. Something is better than nothing when the nature calls. Expecially when the mother of all mothers of nature calls. Smells last just a couple minutes, don't want the "smell" following you home, if you know what I mean.

There is a porta-John of some sort in the Hardy Rd ramp parking lot. Thankfully the wind was not blowing towards BayRoc when I was eating my lunch on Friday |

It must have been put in recently. I haven't been able to fish this summer, but, I know for a fact that there have not been any for a couple three years prior June 16, 2016.
Sad thing, my mom passed June 22nd.

Sorry to hear about your Mom tblspoon.....
I also don't remember seeing it there last year - Apparently there is some AEP or other regulation about Ramps open to the public require a bathroom - one of the reason that Magnum Point Marina can't be generally open year round

I remember Magnum making that statement, but, did not question it. I figured that if I said "Hardy does not have one" that they would shut it down. That is my closest and favorite ramp.
So glad to hear the restroom is back.
If people self police and take picures of car plates that are in violation of fish/wildlife/park violations, we can get our ramps, parking, safety and piece of mind back.

Once I turned my wife onto the freshette, her outdoor life has improved dramatically. The drinking alot of coffee is my current answer. The biggest problem is having to wake up two+ hours early to get there prior daylight.
I'll look into the freshette to see if my daughter and/or wife will consider it.

The drinking alot of coffee is my current answer. The biggest problem is having to wake up two+ hours early to get there prior daylight. I'll look into the freshette to see if my daughter and/or wife will consider it. Thank you. My guess is that the ladies wouldn't try it unless they saw another lady using it. I showed my wife and she was disgusted until she saw my big sister using it. They keep theirs in a zip lock with a box of wet wipes. They just pull it out, push it down their pants or shorts, position properly, and hold on to their tube like they were men. After done, a quick dip of the freshette into the water and back into the bag. You can see a sense of pride on their face when they are done and there is no more jealousy when it comes to ease of use of man versus woman! |
