Installing bait tank in the console

Primetime had been wanting to cut the factory bait well off of his console so he could sit the bait tank down on the floor so a couple of weeks ago we went to work. We took a saw and removed the front bait well/seat. Used the lid of his bait tank to mark the console and made a final cut. I believe he used some weatherstripping to finish the job. I will get some finished photos from him and post them when I can. His turned out well so then we went on to mine. My front bait well was very small and I could.t see that it would be very useful for the type of fishing we do. I was a little apprehensive about cutting on the new boat but I do want it to be as useful as possible so I went ahead and did it. We did mine the same way as Harley's. I used the my bait tank lid to marl the location that I wanted the tank. Made several cuts to get it to fit properly. Then finished the job with weatherstripping to seal the tank to the console. I'm very happy with the way the project turned out. I was even able to use some of the old bait well to secure the tank to the floor.

I never understood why just about every single bay boat manufacturer out there puts those useless livewells in the front like that. All they do is take up space.

Uhhh - did you forget the top of the bait tank was there when breaking out the hole saw one day

No I bought that hole. I'm not sure who did it or why it was done. It doesn't look like a hole saw though because it fits the hole tight. Can you just the rubber gasket-"o"ring for the lid? Mine is missing.

That is great! I think that is nice but man that small bait well comes in handy when you fish salt water! Especially when you have to keep some shrimp alive up front and some mullet in the back!

I do have a small live well in the back. I store my planer boards and big bobbers with a gallon of unsweet tea in there.
Its all about being functional and getting ready to fall. Come on Oct!!
