I can feel it. Today is the day you boat a pig. Man, im dissappointed to say i didnt land a pig. I lost 2 pigs this week and put a 38 inch in the boat to release. The last 2 days have been slow. I did get to fish everday and i concentrated on cobia. Like bigun said, good memories have been made. We spent money but that was good money spent being with my family. Both of my girls can read sonar, work the rod and reels, and cut bait. Look how creative they are at cutting bait. If this is offensive to anyone, please let me know and it will be removed.

Great going! Last trip to Southport we Caught 2 over 40" offshore (completely unexpected, we were trolling for dolphin). Here in NC Most chase bait balls, i do see alot of people anchored up fishing dead baits as well. Is that the best way to target in the bay?

Anchoring with chum and using fresh bunker is the best way for me. People also sight cast. They have a tower to stand on in their boat looking for cobia. In my opinion, if you sight cast you need really good vision. Good anchoring spots are on the shoals between 18'-22' of water. Sight casters circle the buoys, cruise the bridge structure and shoals, and travel near chummers.

Primetime... Good job out there! A little late posting but I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourself. I landed my first cobia last summer off of windmill point. Not too far from the piankatank where we put in. Anchored out on a sand bar drop off. Chummed up everything and started casting a fluorescent pink buck tail from green top sporting goods. The cobia followed it to the boat. Next thing I know my drag is screaming on my other rod that I had a live eel on. That's some fun fishing!
