My grandfather has told me many stories of striper fishing back in the day. He has fished it ever since they started backing it up. He remembers when there was trees sticking up outta the water before it was full pond. Anyway he often tells me he could smell the stripers before he would see them. He quit fishing for them several years ago when the lake started building up so much. He said that the fishing was nothing like it used to be.

Well I just left the sporting good store, got me 2 F18s one blue and silver the other yellow and black, I'm gonna try them next time. They aught to catch fish and fillet them all at the same time as much as they cost lol!! I agree and have two kids that go through their fair share of them. They seem durable except the issue we have is the bill will break right off if it hits rip rap the right way.

I'm sure if they had 20 different colors and I bought 19 of them, the one I didn't get would be the one they are hitting lol

When viewed from 2 to 6 feet deep looking up at night most lures are black. That was proven by a guy from Florida named Doug Hannon. He produced a number of videos on the subject, albeit on VHS years ago. When you are cranking a wave making bait the turbulence alone makes color insignificant. Jmho.

Take for instants the two we fish with, black and gold and the vampire I can see the no difference between BG vs Perch color but do you think there could be a difference between a painted one vs the vampire which has the chrome that could reflect any ambient light? I see Doug has you tube videos so I bet it is on there. I will try and look it up tonight.
