Hi,,Jim at Magnum Point Marina,I don't know you but have known Fulton and Lanette since the mid 80's when magnum was a shack and a gas pump, lanette was making sandwiches and coffee all winter long. Younguns in dipers. As out of towner myself, I don't get to fish as often as I once did,but late fall winter and early spring are the times when I want to be that far up the lake. I couldn't justify the $200 key, but would be interested in a winter key(say nov-april) for a fair price knowing that I cound be frozen out a couple months during hardest part of winter. Just a thought as I know the objective is to make money. But this would be money coming in at the slowest time of the year,If this could be an option, please let me know,as it would sell a few more keys and heck ill sign a statement not to duplicate key.Kenny

Shadslinger, gator, coheasion, and hambone - I'd like to ask you to not copy and distribute the keys. If you think about it, at $200.00, that is forty uses of the ramp at $5.00 per use with the added value of 24 hour access to a private boat ramp. Although we are a partnership, it is still a family owned business, just two families now, instead of one like it was 10 years ago. The key sales pay the wages of the staff that will be coming when school lets out for the summer. Thank you for honoring the honor system. I can assure you this will not be the case on my behalf. If you read through the many posts on ths forum you will see that we are very serious, responsible and honest with a ton of friendly banter and Shadslinger was just having fun. Good luck with youe venture and I look forward to meeting you soon. Gator

Hi Jim -
Thank you for taking the time write on here and let us know what is going on. Like Gator I can assure you I won't be making copies or anything of that sort, but I also doubt I will spend $200 for a yearly key as I don't think I will need to use the ramp even 20 times throughout the year. Maybe some type of code to use on a keypad similar to what is used at storage unit places can be used and then tallied up every so often? Just throwing ideas out here.
I would love to see you guys be successful in your venture as I really believe this part of the lake needs a marina - albeit a small one as the traffic just isn't as high as in other areas of the lake.
As alluded to, one of the biggest issues is the lack of a 24 hour pump. I've spent a few hundred dollars in fuel over the winter at Gills and Crazy Horse that would have been spent at Magnum if 24 hour pumps were available.
Hopefully we can continue to use this forum to share ideas and concerns as you ramp up for the season.
Chris, aka coheasion

Eddie, who ran the boat shop at the top of the hill had a heart attack a couple of months ago.

Just wanna be clear I have not nor would I ever copy a key and sell or give to someone. Like I said my father and his uncle went in together and purchased a key, one key, that they use together as they both fish together. I did use their key one night I went fishing, but I used their boat. Just don't want anyone to think I would do that.

Didn't know all this was on here. I never meant I was gonna steal your key or money by making copies. It was just a joke. I just simply took my business else where like the many other fishermen on the lake.

Now, quackquackboom, a credit card pump may be in the works. Perhaps at the end of the season, so it would be operational for the winter striper season. . Any update on this?
